The Merseyside Special Event Group was formed in 1984 after the operators of the International Garden Festival's Amateur Radio Stations 'broke away' from the Sefton Amateur Radio Club. We ran a number of Special Event Stations promoting Amateur Radio and events taking place throughout Merseyside....... there wasn't a shortage!

Sadly, as the 80s passed us by, many of us, including myself, went our separate ways. Marriage (hmmmmm) got in the way of good DX and even put a stop to my motorcycling! Putting that right now!
